Creative Challenge #24 Featured Layout
I have reached a new stage in pregnancy ... tired ... again! I just can't seem to get enough sleep. My hubby (oh how I love him!) made me go for a nap this morning already. When I woke up an hour & 1/2 later I asked him why I am so tired. He reminded me that in less than two months I am having a baby. Of course.
This week the page I chose to feature here on the blog was completed by Rusheika aka Island Girl. She incorporated the copycat challenge with the Creative Challenge #24.

Copy Cat Wednesday #21
Good morning everyone! I've been feeling a little under the weather this week, very tired and with that comes lack of creative juices. I hate when that happens :( But I have picked a wonderful layout for you guys to lift. I saw this layout when I was surfing the Gallery Standouts website. If you haven't been to that site you have to check it out. They have tons of inspiring layouts in all kinds of scrapbooking styles. I picked this layout by Peppermint, because I love the way she has arranged all her elements and I love the bright colours against the white background. I can't wait to see what you guys come up with. I hope to have my lift done later on this week. Have a GREAT WEDNESDAY! - Tara

Creative Challenge #24
Today is a rough day, currently I am laying in bed with my laptop with a heating pad on my back. I did too much yesterday & am paying for it today. We hosted a potluck for a bunch of our friends, played poker in the evening & had a great time with them. Only about 8 more weeks until baby Makenna arrives & this crazy back pain can be gone! Not that I am counting down or anything :)
THE CHALLENGE:
• Incorporate word strips into your page
Here are some ideas of how to do it:
• use them as a border, cluster them, create a frame with them or incorporate them into your journaling
• check your stash of kits, lots of them have word strips in them that you may have forgotten about!
Here are some items in the designer digitals store to inspire you:

Simple & fun!

Copy Cat Wednesday #20
Today I have some mid week inspiration for you to spark some creativity. Kirsty is a very talented scrapper who can put together wonderful combinations of papers & elements with photos. She says that this page took her days to complete & she was trying to fight the urge to use squares. I say why fight a good thing?! I am addicted to blocks of paper right now too, so I just knew I had to lift this page of hers. - kayleigh

Creative Challenge #23
WOW! What a beautiful weekend we had, the weather was GREAT! I got to see my first robin of the year, which is a great sign that spring is on it's way. I can't wait to wear sandals again :) So for this weeks Creative Challenge I thought we could use ourselves to get inspired. The challenge is to take an old layout that you have done and take that design to create a whole new page. Here is an example. Don't forget to link us to your page in the comments field here on our blog by Saturday. We will post our pages on Friday and then on Sunday we will pick one page that really stands out to us to feature on our blog. - Tara

My Creative Challenge #22 Layout
Happy Friday everyone! Hope you are having a great week. We had a 3D ultrasound yesterday & got to 'meet' out little girl. When we compare her to Spencer's ultrasound they have the same nose, but her face looks a bit chubbier! She was opening her eyes lots & was sucking on her arm for awhile! I really needed the assurance that she was a she ... and within the first minute of the ultrasound the technician confirmed it for us! Thank goodness, now I can take off all the tags from the clothes, wash them & move forward with her room.

Copy Cat Wednesday #19
This week I have chosen a layout by Vinnie Pearce. Her layouts fill my favorites folder and she is a big inspiration to me. I love her unique style. I have picked this layout called Bedtime Joy for this week's Copy Cat Wednesday. I love the simple elegance and the strip of paper down the side. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with. Creative Challenge #22
I bring you a colour challenge to inspire you to create a page this week, I happen to think it's really fun! I hope you do to.
THE CHALLENGE:
Create a page using an Analogous colour scheme. In case you are unsure what that means, here is a definition & an example on the colour wheel.
As per www.tigercolor.com:
- Analogous color schemes use colors that are next to each other on the color wheel. They usually match well and create serene and comfortable designs.
- Analogous color schemes are often found in nature and are harmonious and pleasing to the eye.
- Make sure you have enough contrast when choosing an analogous color scheme.
- Choose one color to dominate, a second to support. The third color is used (along with black, white or gray) as an accent."
... so basically 2-3 colours that are side by side on the colour wheel. Simple right? Remember to have fun & link us to your masterpiece here in the comments field!
And ... Don't forget that there is still lots of time to create a page based on Tara's Two Challenge for a chance to win a $10.00 gift certificate to Designer Digitals fantastic store. (A winner will be chosen randomly.)

Copy Cat Wednesday #18
This week I chose a page that contains lots of inspiring ideas to incorporate into your own page. The layers of paper below the photo, the striped paper to the side with a date strip, mixing up the alpha in the title or the bright, fun colours contrasted against the white. Thank you so much Missy for the inspiration this week!

March Monthly Challenge
Glad to see March is here. It brings us that much closer to spring, which makes me HAPPY! So for this month's challenge, I thought I would make it a little bit harder, but fun at the same time. The rules are simple, you must post your page and link it in the comments field by March 31st at 11:00 p.m. eastern time and your page must contain at least 50% Designer Digitals products. Katie Pertiet has generously donated a $10.00 gift certificate to the Designer Digitals store. Thanks Katie! And one lucky random winner will win. - Tara
The Challenge:
The theme for the March Layout is "Two's". Everything has to be at least two things of the same thing. Example If you use a piece of paper, you have to make sure you use two pattern papers. You have to have two photos and in each photo there has to be two people in the photo. If you use a staple, you have to use two staples and so on and so on. Any questions please drop us a line. Have fun and we can't wait to see your pages. Here is what Kayleigh and I came up with.
:: All Designer Digitals :: Katie Pertiet-Stitching Holes No.1, Seeking Word Art Brushes; Anna Aspnes-Curvy Corners Stitched Borders, 12x12 Scratched Overlays No.2, Distressed Tool Set No.8, Light Textured Neutrals Paperie No.1; Michelle Martin-Elreen Papers & Solids; Pattie Knox-Staple Its; Lynn Grieveson-Paper Bag Alphabet, Glitter Thread Stitches 2.
:: All Designer Digitals :: Katie Pertiet: Basic Gingham Ribbons No. 01 (re-coloured), Scatterings No. 01, Flossy Stitches: Yellow, Alandia Meadow Collection & Notebook Edge Frames No. 02; Pattie Knox: Wooden Game Tiles Alphabet; Lynn Grieveson: Worn Frame Edges & Essential Bases No. 03 Paper Pack; Ali Edwards: Baby No. 01 Word Art Brushes; Jesse Edwards: Shades Kit (brown lace); Anna Aspnes: Stitched by Anna Circles No. 02 & Hipster Plume FotoBlendz Clipping Masks No. 01

Creative Challenge #20 Featured Layout
Only 11 more weeks to go for us until this little girl arrives! Time is flying by. We have cleared out the old `scrapbook room` & re-located all of the stuff from that room into some fantastic PAX wardrobes from IKEA with a new desk downstairs. I have been shopping with my mom & found some great fabrics to create a funky room for the baby. The main fabric for the room is by Amy Butler (check out her site for lots of inspiring ideas). I have been shopping a few times to get some great accessories for the room as well... I really should make a page out of this.
Thanks for all the fantastic pages that were inspired by the yellow challenge from last week. I am so craving those days of warm weather eating Popsicle sticks with Spencer! I love how this page came together of Sharon's aka Shannamay. - kayleigh
