Project: Calendar 2010

I finally have it done. I was so lucky to win a set of Liz's DIY 2010 Calendar Kit. It totally made my day. I just LOVE her style. Check it out here at her blog: Paislee Press. I took the idea from her to include a B&W photo per month. I took each month and placed it in my photoshop document and added a drop shadow. The size is 50 x 50 cm which fits in an IKEA RIBBA Shadow Box Frame. See it Here. This is going to look awesome in my office. Thanks again Liz! - Tara

One Photo Done Two Ways

Tara & I are lucky enough to live about 45 minutes away from each other. We met at Designer Digitals shortly after i joined in 2007. It is really cool to have an online friend become a real life friend. But what is really awesome is that our little girls are 12 days apart. It is so great to be able to compare notes about stages & what they are up to on a regular basis. Little Addison is adorable & we had fun getting the girls together. (We even co-ordinated their outfits without any planning!) Tara & I thought it would be fun to choose our favourite photo from the play date & scrap it. It's fun to see what we each did with the same photo!

Get It Done!

Today I am challenging you to finish a page that you previously started & haven't completed. Or scrap photos that you feel you 'have' to scrap. I am posting a page I started honestly months ago. Every once in awhile I open it up, try a couple things then close it down. I think this page intimidates me because it is filled with so many photos. But I am done having this page hang over my head so I am setting a goal to finish it by Friday. And challenging you to do the same! Link me up to your completed page by Friday! - kayleigh

I had a bit of time last night to scrap so i thought i would plug away at this page. I thought it would be kinda a fun for others to see the process of scrapbooking for me. It still needs more, but I am liking where it is going more now. I do like this background paper more, it makes the photos pop more & of course every page needs stitching!



ETA:
Here it is done! I really like the way this page turned out. I added some fun elements that go with the theme of the page, added some journaling & shrunk the grouping down to allow for some negative space.

A Photo A Day: Part 3

Hi, thanks for all the feedback on my photo a day. I'm starting not to feel too stressed about it. I find if it's getting late in the day and I don't have a photo I find a subject that captures the moment and there I have the photo for that day :) I can't believe there is only one more day left in January. I plan on recapping each month with 3 of my favorite photos from that month. I know it's going to be hard but I want to do it ... I already know it's probably going to be pictures of Addison :) she is so photogenic. Speaking of Addison she just turned 8 months on the 28th. WOW! I have only 5 more months to enjoy with her before it's time to go back to work :( I'm so not looking forward to it. In doing the recap each month if you are doing a photo a day please link me or email us one of your favorite photos from January and I will post it next week. This Layout is by Tdavenport. This definitely jumped out at me. Love how the coral colour pulls you in and her added touches make this layout so beautiful.

My fave photos

Some of you may or may not know but I took the plunge & bought a DSLR camera just after christmas. And i am in love & totally wishing i had got one sooner. The canon T1i are getting along great & yet i have SO MUCH to still learn. I plan on having some fun with this tutorial available in the Designer Digitals store by Katrina Kennedy. Get Me Off of Auto Photography eBook. Most of these photos were taken in P mode & either with a 18-55 mm lens or the 75-300mm 1.4-5.6 lens that my wonderful father in law gave to me. My FIL also has this same camera so it has been fun having someone else to share knowledge with & tips. (I will be honest it is more him sharing with me, rather than me sharing with him!) Anyways here are a few of my favourite shots that i have taken over the last month or so. I have so much more to learn but am loving the process.

Copy Cat Challenge #45

I came across this cute page the other day and I instantly knew I was going to lift it. The layout is by Larissa. I love the way she cropped her photo and I like how the monkey on her son's pajamas looks like it was an added element. The design & colours are perfect. I hope you are as inspired as I was.
